Home Invasion! (5/15/10) Another home invasion happened here in the area. Here is the account of one of the victims: "Morning all,
Last night at 2 am the Severino's house was robbed...Frank found the guy crawling on his bedroom floor and eventually one of the boys chased him across the street and caught him.  He is in jail.  He also tried to break into our house & we found the dining room screen bent back and a hand print on the glass but the windows were locked.  The police are here now taking pictures and fingerprints.  He got in through their unlocked kitchen window. PLEASE make sure you lock your window's at night.  He was in Joey's bedroom and he had taken his xbox out of his room while he was sleeping in there! This was not a kid and he has a record according to the police. Please be safe and forward on."

ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION of 7 yr old boy! (7/20/09) Plainfield police are investigating after a man driving a red pickup attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old boy in a southwest suburban subdivision Wednesday afternoon. The boy was in the 24000 block of Nottingham Drive in the Kensington Club Subdivision in Plainfield about 1:14 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect grabbed him by his arm and tried to pull him into his vehicle, according to a release from Plainfield police. The boy told police he was able to pull away from the man and run back to a nearby home. The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, about 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. He is balding on top of his head and had longer hair on the sides of his head. He was driving an extended cab red pickup with a cap covering the bed, the release said. The make and model are not known. Police are investigating the incident as an attempted kidnapping. Anyone with information should call Plainfield police at (815) 439-7658.

Foreclosed/Unkempt Properties (7/20/09) Fellow Residents, As many of you have noticed, we have several foreclosure properties that have not been maintained adequately by the respective owners. These properties have become an unsightly mess, and the Board is aware of the situation. Please be advised that the Board is in contact with the Village of Plainfield, which has procedures in place to mow lawns of those homes that fall into this state. However, the Board insists that no residents maintain any of these unsightly yards. There are legal liability issues that arise in doing so, and the Village is very specific in mandating that all non-maintained properties be addressed by the Village of Plainfield.
This is a tough situation for our community, as the Village of Plainfield is also dealing with similar properties in other subdivisions as well. Response times for the Village to service these properties vary, but please be assured the Board is making the Village aware as the situations arise. The Board certainly understands the concerns residents have with these issues and if you would like to contact the Village of Plainfield yourself, you may always do so. We are doing our best to address these issues with the Village of Plainfield as we have been instructed to.
Thanks for your understanding.
